Come and listen to our lectures
Take the opportunity to come and listen to Dr. Peter Greenwood, Business Development Specialist, who will share the main findings from studies on Impacts of Silane Modified Colloidal Silica on Waterborne Clear Coatings at the ACS Conference.
Water-free systems of silane modified colloidal silica particles have been found to enhance mechanical properties of coatings. Aqueous colloidal silica has been used in co-polymerization of resins and co-polymerized colloidal silica resin hybrids are also used to enhance a variety of coatings properties like hardness, anti-blocking and reduced dirt-pickup. Non-surface modified colloidal silica has been tested as nano-filler in latex coatings with encouraging results concerning mechanical properties.
When: Monday, April 9 at 3:00 - 3:30 pm
Session: Session 2: Wood Coatings
Peter Greenwood has a Doctoral Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden and has been active in the field of coating, lacquers and colloidal silica for more than 20 years. He has written twelve technical and scientific papers for scientific journals as well as numerous presentations for conferences and is inventor or co-inventor of eighteen inventions.
We also recommend listening to Olof Sandin and Jan Nordin, Senior Application Specialists from Expancel, who will be speaking on the topic Hollow thermoplastic microspheres in elastomeric cool roof coatings.
When: Tuesday, April 10 at 2:00 - 2:30 pm
Session: Session 9: Architectural Coatings II
